Invoices may be issued in Swiss francs (CHF).
For longer bookings, we may request payment in advance.
If an invoice remains unpaid after the agreed payment deadline, we reserve the right to suspend or cancel future services.
Cancellation by the Client
Clients are asked to provide as much notice as possible when cancelling or changing a booking.
For longer bookings and holiday periods, specific cancellation conditions may be agreed before the booking is confirmed.
If cancellation occurs at short notice, a cancellation fee may apply depending on the circumstances and the amount of time reserved for the booking.
Any cancellation fee applicable to a specific booking will be communicated to the client.
Cancellation by the Sitter
In exceptional circumstances, Lydia Pet Sitting may need to cancel or modify a booking.
Where possible, the client will be informed as soon as reasonably possible.
If a service is cancelled before it begins, any payment received for services that have not been provided will normally be refunded, unless another arrangement has been agreed.
Information About the Pet
The client is responsible for providing accurate and complete information necessary for the safe care of the pet.
This may include:
-
feeding instructions
-
medication
-
allergies
-
behavioural issues
-
fears or triggers
-
exercise requirements
-
veterinary information
-
emergency contacts
-
any restrictions or special instructions.
The client must inform us of any behaviour that could reasonably create a risk to the sitter, other people, animals or property.
Emergency Situations
If a pet becomes ill or is injured during a booking, we will make reasonable efforts to contact the owner or emergency contact provided by the client.
If urgent veterinary treatment appears necessary and the owner cannot be reached in time, the client authorises us to seek appropriate veterinary assistance for the animal.
The client is responsible for veterinary costs and other costs associated with the treatment of their pet.
Veterinary Information
Clients should provide the name and contact details of their usual veterinarian where appropriate.
If the pet requires medication, the client must provide clear instructions and the medication in its original packaging whenever possible.
We reserve the right to decline medication administration or other specialised care if we do not consider ourselves appropriately qualified or able to provide it safely.
Keys and Access to the Property
For home visits and house sitting, the client is responsible for providing safe and reliable access to the property.
Keys, access codes and other access information must be provided before the service begins. We will take reasonable care of keys and access information.
Clients should inform us of any alarm system, security instructions or relevant property rules.
House Sitting
For house-sitting services, the agreed price depends on the expected schedule and level of care.
An overnight house-sitting booking does not automatically mean that the sitter will remain inside the property continuously throughout the entire day.
If the pet must not be left alone or requires continuous daytime supervision, this must be agreed in advance and may result in an additional charge.
Pet Safety
For dog walking, dogs must be suitable for the agreed walking conditions and the client must provide accurate information regarding their behaviour and needs.
Where appropriate, dogs must be walked on a lead unless an off-leash arrangement has been specifically agreed.
Lydia Pet Sitting may refuse or modify a walk if conditions appear unsafe for the pet, the sitter or other people or animals.
Multiple Pets
Prices may be adjusted when caring for multiple pets, particularly where additional animals significantly increase the workload or time required.
The total price will be agreed before the booking.
Photos and Updates
During bookings, we will send the client photos or updates about their pet.
Photos may be taken for the purpose of communicating with the client about the service.
We will not publish identifiable photos of clients or their private property for promotional purposes without appropriate permission.
Client Property
We will take reasonable care when accessing a client's home.
Clients are responsible for informing us of any relevant instructions concerning the property, including alarms, appliances, heating, plants or other matters that require attention.
Liability
We take reasonable care when providing our services.
However, we cannot be held responsible for circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Clients remain responsible for providing accurate information about their pet and for informing us of known risks, behavioural issues or medical conditions relevant to the service.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.
Changes to a Booking
Any change to the dates, times, location, number of pets or type of service may result in a change to the agreed price.
Changes should be communicated as early as possible.
Force Majeure
We are not responsible for delays, cancellations or inability to provide a service caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, transport disruptions, illness, emergencies or other unforeseen events.
We will make reasonable efforts to communicate with the client and find an appropriate solution.
Applicable Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by Swiss law, subject to any mandatory legal provisions that may apply.
